Festival of Friendship indoor market

The 2011 festival will feature an indoor market. Stalls confirmed so far include:

— Herbawi kuffiyehs: Hebron is home to the West Bank’s only working kuffiyah factory, Herbawi, and we are immensely proud to be able to offer a wide selection of their beautiful scarves for sale. In the meantime, read the Herbawi story here and see beautiful photos of the factory in action;
— Palestine bookstall, with a wide selection of books on the history, culture and politics of Palestine, and literature by Palestinian authors including Mahmoud Darwish, Raja Shehadeh and Suad Amiry; PLUS a general secondhand book stall. Want to donate? Contact us, or bring books along on the day;
CJPP, offering information on Palestine and on solidarity campaigns in Sydney, as well as badges, brooches, kuffiyehs, scarves, olive oil, handy shopping bags and more…
BerberoSaharan, offering high-quality ceramics, metalwork, textiles and other handmade gifts and decorative objects from Algeria and Morocco;
– seeds, seedlings and information on Permaculture in Palestine, including the Marda Permaculture Project.

And don’t forget – for every item purchased, a percentage goes to our project to renovate and staff kindergartens in the South Hebron Hills.
